Team Biography

Got Ice? Team Biography

  1. The name of our team is “Got Ice?”  We (Brian Becker, Brian Cole, and Chuckie Sutton, Asif Uddin, Daniel Washington (Jr. Team Captain) picked this name, because we’d like to discover how much water/ice is present on the moon.  Okay.  We admit that drinking delicious, multi-flavored icees during robotics practice was another factor in our decision.  We joined this competition for our love of robotics, science, and engineering and would love to advance in the Moonbots competition.
We enjoy working with robots and believe that robotics will yield many new discoveries.  Robots can be used to find life on other planets or the moon and they can be used to see if earthly creatures can survive.  We are curious about finding out if water/ ice is present on the moon so that humans and other animals can use it as a food and energy sourceIf necessary, we can move to another planet or the moon in response to a world wide disaster.
Our team is compromised of five male members who have won numerous awards (winner of the Cedar Point K’nex Great Thrill Ride Build Off, winner of the K’nex classroom challenge, winner the National Science Bowl team engineering challenge, winner of the Body Forward FLL Challenge, winner of the 5th grade spelling, 3rd place winner geography bee, national ATU champion for second degree black (poomsae keumgang)and member of the national ATU tae kwon do champion team).  Our hobbies include engineering activities, lacrosse, soccer, tae kwon do, and gymnastics.  Combined we have traveled to India, Mexico, England, France, Korea, Canada, Africa, Bermuda, Bangladesh, and the continental US (including Hawaii).  We are eager to have many future explorations.  Why not the moon?  In the meantime, we’d like to all we can about the moon and robotics
